SALZBURG FESTIVAL

The Salzburg Festival has become an integral part of Salzburg. Since 1920, operas and concerts have been staged annually in summer at the Festspielhaus, Haus für Mozart, Felsenreitschule or on the stage in front of Salzburg Cathedral. Especially the performance of Everyman by Hugo von Hofmannsthal at Salzburg Cathedral Square continues to delight guests from all over the world. Opera greats like Anna Netrebko, Rolando Villazon or Erwin Schrott join conductors like Ricardo Muti, Ivor Bolton or Sir Simon Rattle. In addition to the summer festival, the Easter and Whitsun festivals take place every year.
