THE THUMSEE
The well-maintained hiking trail around Lake Thumsee is also easily accessible with a baby carriage. Many benches along the path invite you to linger and enjoy nature while the children play by the water and in the sand bays.
The hike around the Thumsee near Bad Reichenhall is about 2.5 km long. It leads through the nature reserve with the natural reed strip. A lido with a small children's playground is attached to the Madlbauer Inn. The rest of the hike is unspoiled and unspoilt nature, which leaves a lasting impression on the children.
Furthermore, only a few meters from the parking lot on the country road is the "Seemösl", a water lily farm located in the swamp pond.
HIND LEAVE
Hintersee is located in the community of Ramsau near Berchtesgaden and is a place where visitors can experience nature at close quarters at any time of the year. Romantically embedded in the landscape, Hintersee invites you to go for a walk or is the starting point for mountain and hiking tours such as the ascent to the Blaueis glacier, Steinberg, Halsalm, Ragatalm, the hike into Klausbachtal or through the Enchanted Forest.
The Hintersee in Ramsau near Berchtesgaden has a water surface of about 16 hectares. The Hintersee was formed after the ice age by a rockfall. This rockfall dammed up the Klausbach to the Hintersee. In the 19th century the Klausbach was artificially led around the Hintersee to prevent the increasing sedimentation caused by the bed load carried by the Klausbach. Currently the Hintersee is only fed by small inlets and silts up in the rear area. At the end of the Hintersee, the lake reunites with the artificially created Klausbach to form the Ramsauer Ache and flows into the Enchanted Forest.
